Our God protects
Praise the Lord. Saturday 8 October at 02:45AM Elvis my cousin knocked at our bedroom door and when I got up, he said the electric iron was burning. I stepped into the hallway and it was covered by smoke as well as the living room. The electric iron has been accidentally switched on as Elvis tried charging his phone over the night. The iron as you can see in this photo was already charred, the table cloth and some clothes got burnt. The spot on the table where the iron stood even got burnt and left an empty space there.
As I ponder on this, I cannot help but say that the angel of light must have kept the worst from happening. I cannot understand how Elvis was still alive in the air tight room now full of smoke. I almost suffocate trying to open the windows in the house and turn on the fans to get some fresh air. The electrical system could have caught fire and so the entire house. If this has happened during the day, it could have been a different story. Normally we are all gone from 7:30 and only return at 6pm or so. We are so very THANKFUL to God for protecting my cousin, our property etc.
The Psalmist says in Psalms 127:1 that "If the Lord does not protect the home, our protection is in vain" reworded in my own way. His promise here is in order.

Who Feeds the Birds?
Browny our office dog passed away on the night of 20 April, 2011. The following day at 5pm, sparrows were around as usual looking for food. Little did the sparrows know that Browny was no more and that they won't have food anymore. These birds have always shared food with browny all the time. No wonder why our heavenly father says "Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?" Matthew 6:26-27.
