Awards - Medals

May 20, 2011 three of my colleagues, Sam Nyambo, Fred Ngah & Edward Nchuchiwe received their
Sam, Fred & Ed
medals from the Labour Minister for having served for 10, 15 & 15 + years respectively. This was a wonderful occasion as they joined the rest of the SIL Cameroon employees in Yaounde for a labour day parade for the first time. It is a blessing and an honour to be awarded a medal and to know that you've been on service for such a number of years.
Paul in his exhortation to the people of Corinthe in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 reminds them to run hard and look forward to that award that cannot fade. So as we rejoice on earthly medals, it is a good reminder to us that we should work even harder for that ever lasting medal because our heavenly father kept us on earth to prepare for it.

IT-Connect Conference

In March 2011, we gathered in Yaounde, Cameroon for "IT-Connect Conerence".  This was a very good moment to learn from one another, share with one another, encourage one another and plan for the future.  IT Connect Conference is organised by AFA (Wycliff Africa Area).
We came from Cameroon(3), Ghana(1), USA(2), Australia(3), Germany(1), Holland(1).

Thieves again this time at our house!

November 15th, 2012 we all left the house as usual.  Little did we know that thieves were probably monitoring us.  When we got back home later that evening, we were surprised to see that they had actually damaged the window from one of the room behind and gotten access into the building.  The following things were stolen.
~ Television set
~ DVD player
~ LED computer screen
~ Some dishes
~ Some drinking glasses
~ My tools (tool bag with assorted tools)
~ Some money
~ They almost stole our camera but left it behind for some reason
~ They could have stolen my laptop but good enough, I had locked it on the table.

It is our prayer that these robbers should repent and Lord willing, return all the items stolen from our us.
Moreso, we hope they don't plan on coming back since they were unable to steal the laptop, they might want to come when we are at home to force us to give them the laptop or something.  In the meantime, I have to find another way of re-enforcing the window bars to make it more difficult for thieves to break in.
