We live in Nkwen and our water source is community water called Nkwen water. It is taken from the mountains in Banjah a neighboring village to Nkwen. Early this year, we are working at increasing the volume and having enough for the increasing population. Water is really a big issue in this part of the world as we see children going around with buckets and containers in search of water every morning, afternoon and evening. From time to time a town crier will pass some information in the night and then the following morning we will find out what was said. Sometimes we are told that we are suppose to go for community water. The town crier only speaks in the Nkwen language despite the fact that others do not understand. If you do not show up for this community, you will be fined heavily.
In John chapter 7:38 Jesus makes a very powerful statement that "Whoever is thirsty should come to me and whoever believes in me should drink. As the scripture says 'Streams of life-giving water will pour out from his side'". So as we grub for physical water, so too should we go after the real water that Jesus gives which if we drink, we will never thirst again.
